- Obituary -- Lillian Carla Crane
Carla passed away at her home after a brief illness on January 12, 2022. She was born on April 11, 1969. Carla was the devoted and beloved daughter of Charlie and Hazel Crane, and is preceded in death by her mother.
She began her career working with families and children as an Early Interventionist with River Valley Child Development Services in Huntington, WV, and most recently as the Executive Advisor within the Office of Health for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Carla attended Marshall University where she obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology, then went on to earn her Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky in Educational Psychology.
Carla was full of love and laughter. She loved her brother, Willie, beyond words, and cherished her time with he and his family. Her niece, Sidney, and nephew, Dylan, were the light of her life. She was an advocate of pet rescue and adoption and loved cooking and gardening at her Winchester farm.
She was a Board member of Clark County C.A.R.E.S., Inc, the committee chair for the Clark County Community Action Plan on Recycling, and a graduate of Leadership Winchester Chamber of Commerce.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 22nd from 1-3pm at Smathers Funeral Chapel.
