- Obituary -- Lonzo Adams Martin
Lonzo Adams Martin, 88, of Rupert, passed from this life into his heavenly home Tuesday, September 29, 2020, in the Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley.
Born April 30, 1932, at Smoot, he was the son of the late Eldon and Josie Osborne Martin.
Lonzo served in the U.S. army and was self-employed until his retirement. He loved to tinker with anything. He could engineer; build; and fix just about anything. Lonzo really enjoyed buying and selling. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Edna Martin; 2 brothers Leroy and Ronnie; and 2 sisters Lovena and Louise.
Survivors include two sons Lon and his son Ian, who lived with him and Darryl of Wisconsin; stepchildren Brenda Taylor (Carlos), Fran Todd (James), Shawn Pauley (Missy), and Linda Brooks (Roger); 3 brothers Larry Martin (Wanda), Lacy, and Charles; 8 grandchildren; a number of step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, in the Martin Cemetery, Crag, with Pastor Norman Fleshman officiating.
