- Obituary -- Lester Markland Kirby, III
Lester M. Kirby III of Metamora, MI. went to be with the Lord while at his winter home in Cleveland, TX on July 24, 2010. A private memorial service for the family will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2010 in Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father Lester M. Kirby II, mother Agnes (Skorupski) and brother William Kirby all of Ada, MI.
Les is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bernice (Rodgers) Kirby, three daughters Paula (Gil) Fonger of Gurnee, IL, Cheri (David) Glover of Cleveland, TX and Brenda (Edwin) Johnson of Lapeer, MI and also by 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers Charles, Mark and Todd and his sister Nancy.
Les retired from General Motors after over 38 years of service. The Lord Jesus has answered our prayers and he is now totally healed and free of cancer. Les will be missed greatly but he is not lost to us, for he lives on in our hearts and is more alive today in the presence of God than he ever was on this earth.
