  	Obituary of Christine B. Carr Crookshanks RAINELLE — Christine Bell Carr Crookshanks, 80, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at home surrounded by her children and husband, three days before her 81st birthday. Born September 24, 1930, at Springdale, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Gordon Carr and Edith McGuire Carr. She grew up in the Church of Christ at Springdale and also attended the Sturgeon Branch Baptist Church and Chestnut Knob Christian Church. Christine was a former U.S. Mail carrier serving Backus Mountain, a loyal wife, loving mother, grandma, and great-grandma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Carr Gwinn, Mary McGee Foor, JoAnn Woolwine, and Audrey Carr, a brother, James D. Carr, grandson, Mason Claypool, and son-in-law, Teddy Claypool. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Leeson D. Crookshanks; her children, Kathy Cox (John), Audrey Claypool, David M. Crookshanks (Jeanne), Martha Gipson (Richard), Pamela Arrington (Scott), Timmy Crookshanks, Millie Callison (Kenny), and Randy Crookshanks (Lisa); her sisters, Margaret Orkis, Nola Cyrus, and Sarah Hall; her brothers, Gordon "Sam" Carr, Frank Carr and Tom Carr; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Marvin Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Sims & Crookshanks Cemetery on the Loops Road, west of Rainelle.
