- Obituary -- Brenda Joyce Crane Cash
RUPERT - Brenda Joyce Cash, 72, of Rupert, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the CAMC General Division Hospital, following a short illness.
Born June 15, 1943 in Greenbrier County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Laura Stout Crane.
Brenda was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed her dogs, gardening, watching westerns and sci-fi movies. Brenda was a generous woman who loved the spirit of all the holidays.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Clarence Cash; a daughter Joyce Ann Cash; two brothers Robert (Bobby) and Dennis Crane; a sister Glenna Cochran; and two step children Jimmy and Toni Cash. Survivors include her daughter Laura Bennett and husband Bob of Bradenton, Fla.; three sons James Cash and wife Heather, David and Johnny Cash, all of Rupert; two step children Jackie Cash and Faye Ferguson and husband James, all of Bedford, Va.; one brother Cody Crane of Illinois; one sister Charlotte Crane of Rupert; seven grandchildren Rob Bennett, Kayla, J.J., Tiffany, Zoey, Josh and Jared Cash; and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Brenda's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 8, with Pastor Jimmy Groves officiating at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences at www.smathersfuneralchapelinc.com

RUPERT - Laura Crane, 85, passed away Friday, March 18, 2005.
Born Feb. 18, 1920, in Braxton County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Preston and Sarah Margaret Knight Stout.
Mrs. Crane was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elmer Crane Sr.; two daughters, Sylvia Crane and Glenna Cochran; two sons, Robert and Dennis Crane; three sisters, Alice Knight, June Walls and Emma Gillespie; and two brothers, Denver and Dennis Stout.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Crane and Brenda Cash, both of Rupert; a son, Cody Crane of Moline, Ill.; a sister, Ona Westfall of Clarksburg; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Jimmy Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
