Vila E. Gilbert Johnson Clowser, age 88 of Lewisburg, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 after a short illness.
Born July 1, 1935 at Rainelle, WV, she was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elma Gilbert, her first husband Gary S. Johnson, 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Vila is survived by her husband of 15 years, William A. Clowser, daughters Tammy J. McKeever (Wayne) of Sistersville, WV, Julie A. Potorti (Anthony) of Reedsville, PA, son Danny S, Johnson of Lewisburg, 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Mandy Potorti, Kristi Bedelyon, and Matthew Potorti, several great grandchildren and 2 sisters Virginia Surgeon of Lewisburg and Clarice Short of Arizona.
Vila was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairlea, was formerly employed by Greenbrier Center, former owner of Greenbrier Valley Airport gift shop and sold Avon. She was a graduate of Rainelle High School. She loved her family and faithfully supported the WV Mountaineers.
Friends may call at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg on Friday, January 19, from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 pm, with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville, WV
