- Obituary -- Boyd Fay McClung
Boyd Fay McClung went to be with Jesus peacefully on June 12, 2009, surrounded by his family.
Born Sept. 8, 1925, in Snow Hill, Nicholas County, he was a lifelong resident of West Virginia, residing in Nicholas, Kanawha and Putnam counties.
He attended St. John United Methodist Church, Scott Depot. He graduated from Nicholas County High School and attended West Virginia Institute of Technology.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked at Union Carbide/Rhone Poulenc and retired in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lena McClung; parents-in-law, Orval and Velma Green, all of Nicholas County. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Cecil Stewart; and son-in-law, Gary Metzger.
Surviving: wife of 58 years, Wilma G. McClung; children, Steve and Connie McClung of Greenville, S.C., Deborah and Larry Craddock of Gray Court, S.C., Carol and Gordon Hogard of Eldersburg, Md., and a third "daughter", Karen Martin of St. Albans; grandchildren, Michael and Ashley McClung, Heather, Deanna and Tori Hogard, Jeff, Nathan, Duane, Matt and Ben Craddock; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Dora McClung, Curtis and Jean McClung, and Michael and Mary McClung; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hilda Gault, Waneda and Bill Matheny, Leah and Peter Fortney, Wanda and Earl McLaughlin, Carol and Alan Murdock; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Jean Green; sister-in-law, Nadine Green.
