- Obituary -- Edward Clinton Smith
Final rites for Edward Clinton Smith, 82, Crawley, will be conducted a 11 a.m. Saturday in the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in East Rainelle with the Rev. J. H. Quesenberry and the Rev. Lee White in charge. Burial will be in End of the Trail Cemetery near Clintonville.
Smith died Thursday morning in a Ronceverte hospital after a long illness.
Smith owned and operated a store at Crawley from 1905 until his retirement in 1949, and served as postmaster from 1913 until 1949.
Born Sept. 1, 1879 at Crawley, he was a son of the late Robert and Leah McClung Smith.
Among his survivors is a son John Smith.
