- Obituary for Evelyn Jean Zopp
Evelyn Jean Zopp, 93, of Rupert, peacefully left this world Sunday, April 23, 2017, in the Meadow Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Rainelle.
Born December 4, 1923, in Crawley, she was the daughter of the late John and Ileta Selvy Crane.
Jean worked for Dorsey’s Store and Shaffer’s Supply. She was owner of the Rupert Supermarket. Her family will long remember her cooking and beautiful flower garden. Jean was known for her knowledge of her community, their family trees and had a story to tell for each one.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband William Preston Zopp; 2 brothers Eddie and John Lee Crane; and 1 sister Ama Mann.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving son Preston and wife Vaughnie of Rupert; 2 sisters Mary Snuffer and husband Jim of North Carolina and Elizabeth Cardoza of Princeton; 2 grandchildren Billy Ben Zopp and wife Melanie of Lewisburg and Rebecca Renee Zopp of Rupert; 5 great-grandchildren Audrey Zopp, Jared Zopp, Riley Zopp, Heather Massie (Tarik Howard) and Hollie Sims (Brandon); 3 great-great grandchildren Daylin Howard, Nixon Howard and Brayden Sims; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, in the Highland Church of God, Rainelle, with Pastor Bob Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the End of the Trail Cemetery at Clintonville.
