- Obituary -- Elizabeth Ann (Libby) Crane Cardoza
Elizabeth Ann Crane Cardoza, 87, formerly of Rupert, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, in the Stonerise Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Linside, following a long illness.
Born December 4, 1933, at Crawley, she was the daughter of the late John and Ileta Selvey Crane.
She was a 1952 graduate of Rupert High School. Following graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following graduation from Control Tower Operators School as the only female in a class of 25, Elizabeth transferred to Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville, South Carolina, where she married and lived for most of the next 55 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Robert L. Sanders, Jr.; an infant daughter Cynthia Ann Sanders; her husbands Robert L. Sanders, Sr. and Manuel C. Cardoza; two brothers Edward E. Crane and John L. Crane; and three sisters Jean Zopp, Mary Snuffer, and Amy Mann.
Survivors include her daughter Cheryll Nelson and husband Richard of Princeton; six grandchildren Stina Tayloe (Mark), Myles Nelson (Ashley), Michelle Lancaster (Travis), Bobby Sanders (Lindsey), Keely Horrell (Carr), and William Sanders; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, with Pastor Ron Lilly officiating.
