    • Obituary -- Junior Norman Tincher

      Junior Norman Tincher, of Rainelle, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 in the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea, following a short illness.

      Born March 17, 1924, he was the last survivor of the late J.N. "Doc" and Hettie Simms Tincher family. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Louise Simms Tincher, August 23, 1994; 3 sisters Letha and Nina Tincher and Leny McGuire; and six brothers Buery, Gordan, Ray, Rankin and Clyde Tincher and Ernie Osborne.

      Junior was a member of the Little Sewell Baptist Church, Crag, where attended since birth. He served under seven pastors who loved the Lord. Junior was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.

      He, Louise and their sons were the owners of the Tincher Poultry Farm at Crag. Junior was a coal miner and retired from the Greenbrier County Board of Education after 28 years of service as a bus driver.

      Survivors include 2 sons, John Hilton Tincher and wife Connie of Lewisburg and Herman Lee Tincher and wife Donna of Winchester, TN; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Wilda Judy of Lawn.

      Services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc. with Pastor Ray Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
