- Obituary -- Edna Irene Shafer Roland
Mrs. Okey (Edna Irene) Roland,m 65, of Clintonville, died Thursday in a Bluefield hospital afer a long illness.
Born in Rupert, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert [sic] and Xerdia Shafer. She had been a resident of Clintonville for the past 25 years, was a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church at Williamsburg, and was a homemaker.
Surviving in addition to her husband include one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Rosemary) McClanahan of Bluefield, Va.; one son, Donald Roland of Lacey, Wash.; three sisters, Mary Ethel Masters of Cladwell, Anna Belle Cook of Peterstown and Lenora Mae Fleshman of Clintonville; one brother, Lon Shafer of Gassaway; and three grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday at the Sinking Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roselwan Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
