  	Obituary of Gerald "Jerry" Curtis Smith Gerald “Jerry” Curtis Smith, 70, of Dixie, formerly of Rainelle and Richmond, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in the Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, following a long illness. Born October 22, 1947, in Rainelle, he was the son of Rose McClung Smith of Loops Road, Rainelle and the late Charles “Slim” Smith. Jerry worked mostly as a mechanic. He enjoyed tinkering, making people smile and was known for his peanut butter fudge. Jerry was a member of the Midlothian Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia. In addition to his father, Jerry is preceded in death by 3 brothers Joe, Mike and Tony Smith; 1 sister Evelyn “PeeWee” Best; mother and father-in-law Cecil and Agnes Adkins Bostic; 3 brothers-in-law Sonny and Donald Lee Bostic and Donny Holliday; and 1 sister-in-law Faye Farren. In addition to his mother, Rose, Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Donna Bostic Smith; 1 son Jonathan Smith (Jamia) of Mt. Lookout; 2 daughters Jennifer Chastain of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Amy Morgan (Ben) of Richmond, Virginia; 2 brothers Clarence “Pete” Smith (Sue) of Rainelle and Mark Smith (Thelma) of Durbin; 1 sister Debra Kay Hicks (C.J.) of Dixie; 1 brother-in-law Bill Bostic (Sue) of Chesapeake, Virginia; 4 sisters-in-law Peggy Holliday of Moundsville, North Carolina, Anna Carr (Bob) of Alderson, Kyoko Bostic of Rainelle, and Saundra Bostic of Goldvein, Virginia; 10 grandchildren Witny, Destiny, Hunter, and Kinly Coleman, Kyle and Kelsy Smith, Timothy Wickline, Trista Yoney (Stefan), Sydney and Zachary Morgan; a special niece Tonya Hicks; and a host of extended family and friends. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, in the Midlothian Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia, with Pastor Ken Cornett officiating. Burial will follow in the Dale Memorial Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.
