- Obituary for Marsha Rose Morton Smith
Marsha Rose Morton Smith, 60, of Mt. Hope, formerly of Meadow Bridge, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, in the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, following a short illness.
Bon April 14, 1956 at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Edith Halsey Morton.
Marsha was of the Baptist faith and a 1974 graduate of Meadow Bridge High School. She worked for Sam’s Club and before that for K&W Cafeteria. It was not just a job, she enjoyed cooking and her family can attest to her skills.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth “Mike” Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter Sandra Smith of Mt. Hope; her joy and her granddaughter Rayleigh of Mt. Hope; 4 bothers Buford Morton and wife Ann of Richmond, Virginia, Mark Morton and wife Kitty of Mt. Hope, Henry Morton and wife Delsie of Meadow Bridge and Vince Morton and wife Linda of Michigan City, Indiana; 3 sisters Betty England of Bradley, Sue Jones of Fairdale and Shirley Rectenwald and husband Al of Teays Valley; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. Marsha will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, in the Mt. Hope Christian Church with Pastor Buddy Goins and Donnie Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Wickline Cemetery at Meadow Bridge.
