- Obituary -- Lorena Edith Sims Crane
Lorena Siims [sic] Crane, wife of Herbert C. Crane of near Rainelle, departed this life November 22, 1929, aged 39 years, 8 mos. and 3 days.
Her afflictions were beyond medical aid and after having been taken to three hospitals, where it was found that no medical skill could remove the dread cause -- cancerous tumor, she returned to her home where she patiently and uncomplainingly spent several weeks of intense suffering. Her last few hours in this life were quiet and peaceful and she passed to the great beyond with her whole countenance lit up with a smile of supreme happiness whcih even death could not erase.
She leaves to mourn their loss a husband and six small children, an aged father, several brothers and sisters and hosts of friends and other relatives.
No more in this sad world of grief
Shall we behold thy dear kind face
But in that better world above
Where allis joy and peace and love
Dear Sister we will meet thee.
