- Obituary -- John C. Robinson
John Clyde Robinson, 66, of Rainelle, WV, passed away April 1, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Born February 12, 1953, in Baltimore, MD, John was the son of the late Jessie Robinson and Audrey (Jett) Robinson. Married to his wife, Rebecca “LuAnn” Simms, on February 6, 1974, John was blessed with 45 years of loving commitment which flowered a thriving family of 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. As a loving family man, John was never out of touch with his children, his numerous grandchildren, his siblings, or his mother, with all of whom he went to great lengths to keep close contact.
As a worker, John is remembered as a US Coast Guard veteran. Additionally, he worked as a humble cabinet installer and worked his way to head the IT department of Signature Companies, based out of Haymarket, VA, until his retirement in March 2018, after 27 years of dedication.
Outside of work, John was a talented artist and musician in and of his own right. Music became a part of John’s life early on and he took it upon himself to teach himself guitar among other instruments, a skill with which he would carry on throughout his life. His family recalls the impossibility of walking through his home without stumbling upon at least one of the three things connected to that passion: a guitar, a guitar pick, or a harmonica.
John will be forever remembered for his love, for his service to his country, his work, and his family, and for his music, all of which will live on through his survivors.
John is survived by his mother, Audrey Robinson; his wife, ”LuAnn” Robinson; daughters, Sonja Raybuck and husband Justin, Dawn Robinson and partner Michael Dorsey; his sister, Cathy Myers; brothers, Charles Leggett, Michael Robinson, Timothy Robinson, Gary Robinson, and Shawn Robinson; grandchildren, Brandon, Austen, and Mariah Smith, Jayden Bertrand, and Zackery and Jakeb Raybuck; and great-grandchild, Lucas Ekman.
