- Obituary - Eldridge Clarence Hellems
QUINWOOD -- Eldridge Clarence Hellems, 80, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Beckley, after a long illness.
Born Dec. 14, 1924, at Bamboo, he was the son of the late Buster and Mary Hellems.
Mr. Hellems was a member of the Quinwood Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran He was the owner and operator of Hellems Refrigerator and Air Conditioning, and he was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jane, of 57 years and one brother, Lonnie Hellems.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Byer and husband, Ed, of Quinwood; one grandson, Christopher Carnell and wife, Brandy, of Mount Lookout; three sisters, Nellie Edds of Rainelle, Florence Walton of Quinwood and Lorene Nottingham and husband, Melvin (Buck), of Crichton; one brother, Ralph (Kaki) and wife, Almagene, of Crichton; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace and Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with the Revs. Houston Boothe and Melvin Nottingham officiating. Burial will be at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.
Masonic graveside service with Midland Trail Lodge No. 166 officiating.
