Dennis Gail McClanahan, 74 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017, at his home with his family by his side.
Born in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late Charles Virgil and Electra Arnett Harmon McClanahan.
A graduate of Graham High School, Dennis was active in their sports program, playing football, basketball and running track. He loved bass fishing. He had worked in the mining motor business for 40 years.
Dennis was a good friend and neighbor to all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Virgil McClanahan, Jr, Bill, Jack and Doris McClanahan, Betty Smith and JoAnn King.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 52 years, Delma Rosemary Roland McClanahan; his daughter: Robin Adkins; special neighbors and friends: Patti and Gary Wilkinson, Ulysses and Martha Cundiff, Brian Sizemore, JoAnn Atkins, Karen Shott and Donnie Gott; numerous nieces and nephews; his fur baby: Brandi.
A service to celebrate Dennis’ life will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev Hugh Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
