  The Beckley Register-Herald, Beckley, WV, Online Edition, 30 June 2009 HINES - Ulyss S. Phipps, 31, of Hines, died Friday afternoon, June 26, 2009, at Charleston Area Medical Center (General Division) at Charleston, following a motorcycle accident near Charmco. Born June 13, 1978, at Fairlea, W.Va., he was the son of David W. Phipps and Julie A. Drennen Haught. Ulyss worked construction for Target Drilling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenna Sue Shelton Phipps, in 2005, and a sister, Jessica Ellen Phipps, in 2002. Survivors include his parents, David Phipps and Julie Haught; two sons, Bradley William and Jeyce Alec; a sister, Ashley A. Phipps; a brother, William D. Phipps; grandmother, Thelma Drennen; a niece, Cierra Phipps; and two nephews, Tucker Phipps and Dylan Snodgrass. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with the Rev. Mike Tincher officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday evening, at the funeral home.
