  The Charleston Daily Mail, 27 May 1965 EAST RAINELLE - Former Rupert resident Howard T. Shawver, 71, of Battle Creek, Mich., died yesterday in a Battle Creek hospital. He was a retired merchant and was a World War I veteran. Mr. Shawver belonged to Rupert VFW Post and Battle Creek American Legion. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home here by the Rev. Lee White. Burial will be in End of the Trail Cemetery near Clintonville.
