RUPERT - Hattie Mae Remley, 96, of Rupert, W.Va., died Sunday afternoon, June 8, 2008, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, following a long illness.
Born Sept. 15, 1911, at Kieffer, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Garner Ray and Mae T. Crane Hunter.
Mrs. Remley was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church of Kieffer and was a trustee of Burn?s Cemetery where she worked as a volunteer until 2000. She was the proprietor of Chicken Shack Restaurant in Rupert from 1971 to 1981, and she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a homemaker.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Edward Remley, in 1986; a daughter, Linda Daily; two sisters, Mary Deitz and Louise Corsaro; and four brothers, Jim, Earl, Grover and Llewellyn Hunter.
Survivors include a son, Michael Remley and wife, Cathy, of Rupert; three grandchildren, Michelle White, Danielle Remley and Adam Remley; and three great-grandchildren, Brent Bennett, Joey and Ayden White.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with the Rev. Kermit Hunter Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery at Kieffer, W.Va.
Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
