STAUNTON, Va. ? Mrs. Viola Beatrice (Morrison) Hanson, 101, widow of Mr. Omer Lee Hanson, of 3360 Churchville Ave., Staunton, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta Gay and Bobby Whitson, with whom she made her home.
Viola was born in Crawley on May 17, 1907, the daughter of the late Harvey Henderson and Rose Dell (McClung) Morrison.
Mrs. Hanson was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Morrison, and a sister, Stacy Hobbs.
Mrs. Hanson is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta Gay and Bobby Whitson of Staunton; a grandson, Robert Lee Whitson of Staunton; and two great-granddaughters, Krista L. Whitson and Kellie L. Whitson, both of Staunton.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at End of the Trail Cemetery, Clintonville, by the Rev. Temple D. Myers.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the AMC Hospice, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
There will be no public viewing or visitation.
