  The Beckley Register-Herald, Beckley, WV, Online Edition, 20 May 2010 ORIENT HILL — Gerald Z. "Jerry" Walkup, 78, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at CAMC, (Memorial Division), Charleston, following a short illness. Born March 24, 1932, at Crawley, he was the son of the late Mamie Alice Walkup Jones. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a half brother, Larry R. Jones. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a disabled laborer from a steel mill. Survivors include two half brothers, Clarence C. Jones of Wyandotte, Mich. and Robert W. Jones of Meadow Bridge. Funeral services will be 21 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle, with Pastor Les Mullens officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation will be one hour prior (1 to 2 p.m.) to the service. Arrangements by Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle.
