Phyllis Perkins Dupree

Phyllis Perkins Dupree 88 of Naples, Florida died peacefully July 9, 2019. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Grover Dupree, Sr. "Junior", her father Roe Perkins, mother Edgel Perkins.
Phyllis was born and raised in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Mrs. Dupree was a resident of Collier County for 54 years and employed by Naples Community Hospital, the Collier County Public Library in Immokalee, FL-which she truly loved, and a substitute teacher in the public school system of Collier County. Phyllis loved quilting, reading, gardening and enjoyed feeding the birds and rabbits and loved all types of flowers. She was known as a great cook, and found humor in everything. She was always telling jokes to family and friends.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution would be greatly appreciated to the Immokalee Library where she worked. The donation needs to be designated in the memo part of check for the Immokalee Branch. She is survived by her children; Nancy Gilkeson Anthony-Moore, Prattville AL, Barbara Gilkeson Sanders (Jerry) of Tallahassee FL, Evelyn Gilkeson Evans (Frank) Sopchoppy FL, Ashby Gilkeson "Rocky" Naples FL, Shirley Gilkeson of Tallahassee FL and Jeffry Dupree (Amy) Immokalee FL. Step- children; Joe, Larry, Ronald, James and Cynthia Dupree. Grandchildren: Raquel Sauls, Michelle and Doug Sanders, Dale and Frankie Evans, Tiffany Taylor, Ashby and Callie Gilkeson, Madisyn, Makenzy, Maverick and Major Dupree. Two brothers; Roy Allen "John" Perkins, of Ronceverte, West Virginia and Philip "Bubby" Perkins (Colie). Four sisters; Marian Tipton (Doug) of Middletown, OH, Louise Puckett (Larry) of Hamilton, OH, Gladys Tincher of Crawley, West Virginia, Elizabeth "Bibby" Robinson (Mike) Rainelle, West Virginia.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am, Graveside-Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens, 1155 Little League Road, Immokalee, FL 34142. A luncheon and shared memories will be held after the service at First United Methodist Church, Roberts Avenue Immokalee.
