MEADOW BRIDGE - Ray E. ?Flea? Crane, 55, of Meadow Bridge, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Aug. 30, 1952, at Elton, he was the son of Erma Crane Zickafoose of Flint, Mich.
Mr. Crane was a mechanic by trade and had worked in Lewisburg, Hinton, Meadow Bridge and in Beckley with the Courtesy Patrol. He was affiliated with both Meadow Bridge United Methodist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Meadow Bridge.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Eugene Crane; a sister, Charlotte Zickafoose Cowell; and his grandparents who raised him, Loman and Marie Fleshman Crane.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Virginia Adkins Crane; two sons, Luke and Steven Crane of Meadow Bridge; a daughter, Kimberly Crane of Meadow Bridge; two brothers, Herman and David Zickafoose, both of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Doris Zickafoose of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with Pastor Roger Boothe and Pastor Ferlin McClanahan officiating. Burial will follow in McElhenney Cemetery, Grassy Meadows.
Pallbearers will be Larry and Glen Crane, Mike Fleshman, L.L. Gwinn, Ray Thomas, and Jimmy, Mark and Earl Adkins.
Friends may call one hour before service at the funeral home.
