  The Charleston Gazette, 12 December 1972 RUPERT - John Roosevelt Crane, 70, of Rupert, Greenbrier County, died Sunday at his home, apparently of a heart attack, according to a spokesman at Smathers Funeral Home at Rainelle. He was a retired miner. Surviving: wife, Mary Samples Crane; daughters, Mrs. Jean C. Zopp of Rupert, Mrs. Mary Snuffer of Ansted, Mrs. Amy Ruth Mann of Germantown, Ohio, Mrs. Libby Sanders of Blackville, S.C.; sons, John Lee and Edward E. of Rupert; stepdaughter, Mrs. Lucille C. Redden of Rainelle; sisters Mrs. Carrie Suttle of Rainelle, Mrs. Pauline Hines of Hines; brother, Orley Crane of Beverly Shores, Ind. Service will be 2:30 p.m. today at Smathers Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. John Lares officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
