CHARLES DUWARD HAWKINS, 68, of Clintonville, Greenbrier County, died Thursday at home of an apparent heart attack. He was a member of James Chapel United Methodist Church, Clintonville, and a retired owner and operator of Hawkins Market, Clintonville. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving: wife, Arbutus McCoy Hawkins; daughter, Deanna Bennett of Clintonville; sons, Charles "Dukie' of Windsor, Pa., Steve of Crawley, Gregory Wayne at home; mother, Gertrude Crane Hawkins of Crawley; brothers, Elmer of Lewisburg, David of Mauldin, S.C.; eight grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in James Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sterling Morgan and the Rev. Leroy Crane officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
