Two Couples Mark 20th Anniversaries
KIEFFER - Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heaster and Mr. and Mrs. Powell Hawkins celebrated their 20th wedding anniversaries Sunday by visiting Natural Bridge, Va. They were accompanied by their children, Joyce, Michael, Brenda and Douglas Heaster, and Columbine, Josephine and Arbutus Hawkins.
The couples were united in marriage 20 years ago in a double wedding ceremony.

KIEFFER - Bernice L. Heaster, 97, of Kieffer passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011, at home following a short illness.
Born August 3, 1913, in Clintonville, she was the daughter of the late Adam Dean and Elizabeth Susan Loudermilk Hanna.
Bernice was a homemaker who enjoyed canning, working crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Clintonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Walter Heaster, in 1972; two sons, John Walter Heaster, Jr., and Michael L. Heaster; three sisters, Bertha Burns, Beulah Jones, and Bonnie Hawkins; and three brothers, Oran, Ray and Dave Hanna.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Giles (Gene) of Alexandria, VA, and Brenda Gilmore of Kieffer; two sons, Basil R. Heaster of Kieffer and Ronald "Doug" Heaster (Gwenda) of Crawley; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the funeral home.
