  The Charleston Gazette, Online Edition, Sunday, 1 November 1998 RUPERT - William Leslie McClung, 91, of Rupert died Oct. 31, 1998, at home after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Rupert, a former employee of Gauley Coal and Land Co., and was retired from Westvaco Corp. He was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church, Rupert, and was a graduate of Rainelle High School. Surviving: daughters, Barbara Jean Cutlip of Grand Isle, Fla., Ruth Ellen Vickers of Rupert; sons, Denvin C. McClung of Batavia, Ohio, Leslie Bruce McClung of Charleston, David Gary McClung of Grandview; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Smathers Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Old McClung Cemetery, Rupert. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
