Nicholas Hunter Is Fatally Shot
Summersville, Nov. 4 - Donzel Malcolm, 27, was killed instantly about noon Friday when the charge from a shotgun carried by his brother accidentally discharged. Sheriff John Bell gave this version of the shooting:
The two men, employes of the Tioga Coal Corp., were hunting near the Tioga mine when they decided to separate and go in different directions.
A few moments later, while the brothers were still near each other, Denzel who called to Boyd, about 19, that a quail was in the air, and as Boyd wheeled around his gun discharged accidentally, the charge striking the older man in the back of the neck.
A coroner's inquest was conducted by Squire Joe McMillion, and the verdict was death by accidental shooting.
The deceased as a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Malcolm of Tioga.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
