  The Beckley Register-Herald, Online Edition, 10 August 2001 RAINELLE - Gary Lee McClung, 58, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, in a Fairlea hospital following a long illness. Born May 17, 1943, at Orient Hill, he was the son of the late Cecil and Ethel McClung. Mr. McClung was of the Baptist faith and a welder. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Cledus McClung. Survivors include a son and daughter of Bowie, Md.; two brothers, Glen McClung of South Carolina, and Virgil McClung of Maryland; two sisters, Jackie Dash of Maryland and Marie Williams of Rainelle; five grandchildren; and his companion, Ruth Lilly. Service will be 7 p.m. today at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will follow Saturday in the McClung Cemetery, Rupert. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements by Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle.
