MARTINSBURG - Mrs. Zelma L. Pitsenbarger Gunnoe, 87, formerly of Maplewood, died Tuesday, June 13, 1995, in a Martinsburg hospital, following a short illness.
Born Sept. 6, 1907, at Thayer, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie Meadows Pitsenbarger.
Mrs. Gunnoe had made her home with her daughter in Martinsburg for the past 35 years, was a homemaker and attended the Loops Road Holiness Church.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, James Gunnoe; two sisters, Mable Carter and Ethel Cross and two brothers, Joe and George Pitsenbarger.
Survivors include a daughter Florence Jainniney, of Martinsburg; two sons, J. C. Gunnoe of Mentor, Ohio, and Philip Gunnoe of Martinsburg; three sisters, Dorothy Campbell and Thelma Fox, both of Maplewood and Bethel Amick, of Leivasy; a brother, John Pitsenbarger, of Layland; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chestnut Knob Community Church at Layland with Bishop Clarence Toney and Tim Jainniney officiating. Burial will follow in the Layland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Chestnut Knob Community Church, Layland.
Pallbearers will be five grandsons and one nephew.
