Garland Bernard McClung, 35, died from a heart attack while hunting in the woods on the Thornwold plantation near Lewisburg on Saturday. He was industrial art teacher in the Cheylan junior high school and had come to Lewisburg to visit his brother, William McClung, superintendent of the Thornwold. When he did not return from hunting in a reasonable time a search was made and his body was found a short distance from the house. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bernard McClung of Hughart, a graduate of West Virginia Tech and served three years in the air force in World War II. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Epperly McClung, a daughter, Ann Garland McClung of Alloy, three brothers, Harry McClung of Hughart, William McClung of Lewisburg and Todd McClung of Rupert and one sister, Miss Margaret McClung of Hughart. Funeral service was held on Tuesday at the Methodist church at Montgomery, conducted by Rev. Bryan W. John and burial was in Memorial Park cemetery near there.
