QUINWOOD — Sherman Lee Cochran, 65, of Quinwood, West Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 4, 2011.
Born August 3, 1945, at Quinwood, he was the son of the late Robert Luther and Irene May Zopp Cochran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharmen Gayle Cochran; two sisters, Corenna Soos and Novella Trout; a father-in-law, Eugene Cross; a nephew, Ricky Trout; and a son-in-law, Eddie Johnston. Sherman was a member of Greenbrier Avenue Church of God in Rainelle, was a retired coal truck driver, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He had many friends, and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Sandra Cross Cochran of Quinwood, WV; 4 daughters: Theresa Griffith and husband Tommie of Quinwood, Kim McClung and husband Curtis of Rainelle, April Beavers and husband Randy of Thaxton, VA, Shalanea Loudermilk and husband Rex of Quinwood; a son-grandson: Colton O'Dell; grandchildren: Adam, Ashley, Justin, and Blake of Quinwood, Ceara and Savanna of Thaxton, VA, Jason, Skyler, BJ, Travis, and Lynzee of Rainelle; a brother: Robert Shirley Cochran (Putt) and wife Wanda of Carl; mother-in-law: Wilma Cross of Quinwood; special brother-in-law and caregiver, Richard Paitsel and wife Rhonda of Covington, Virginia; also expecting one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Rev. Allen George officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Pallbearers will be Rex Loudermilk, Randy Beavers, Bob Heaster, Adam Griffith, Curtis McClung, Justin Loudermilk, Jason Snuffer, and Jacob Nutter, and one honorary pallbearer, Colton O'Dell. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening, March 7, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle.
