MEADOW BRIDGE - Jessie Kathleen "Kat" Jones, 91, of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 28, 2011.
Born November 27, 1919, on Beury Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Walter D. and Lula Mae Parker Berry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover M. Jones, in 1986; four sisters, Myrtle Harmon, Pearl Berry, Ruby Bennett, and infant sister Bula Berry; six brothers, Rev. Bill Berry, Arlie Berry, Charles Berry, Jr., Harold Berry, Sam Berry, and infant brother Grover Berry.
Kat was a member of the Meadow Bridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a homemaker, and worked as a housekeeper for various families.
Those left to cherish her memory are: two sons, Grover "Jimmy" Jones and wife Patty of Meadow Bridge, WV, and Beury D. "Jr." Jones and June of Meadow Bridge, WV; 3 daughters: Delores Smith and husband Jim of Clawson, MI, Thelma Jean Stickler and husband Dewey of Meadow Bridge, WV, and Zelta Martin and husband Curtis of Danese, WV; 15 grandchildren whom she loved very much, James, Jeff, Brittany, Donald, David, Robert, Anita, Greg, Dewey, Jr., Curtis, Jr., Marty, Sheri, Kathy, Melvin (BJ), and Dexter; 30 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Berry and wife Marg of Bel Air, MD; two sisters, Mildred Harmon and Ramonia Stallard, both of Danese, West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Rev. Clarence Toney and Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 31, 2011, at the funeral home.
The family would like to give "Special Thanks" to the staff of Heartland of Rainelle for all the wonderful care they gave Jessie and the kindness shown to her family.
