JOHN EDWARD "PETE? Pomeroy, Sr., 73, of Petersburg [Va.], formerly of Quinwood, W.Va., died Dec. 14, 1990, in Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, after a long illness. He was a retired electrician and emergency medical technician from Allied Chemical, Hopewell. He was a former coal miner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Quinwood, Odd Fellows, a Ralph Nader consumer organization, and Petersburg Historical Society. Surviving: wife, Sue Smith Pomeroy; daughters, Carrie Gail Walker of Fort Washington, Md., Brenda Nunley of Lewisburg, W.Va., Virginia Lee Robinson of Lincoln Park, Mich.; sons, John Jr. of Petersburg, Sammy Jack of Fredericksburg; sisters, Hallie I. McMillon of Euclid, Ohio, Bertha Lucille Fox of Quinwood; nine grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
