NEWPORT NEWS, VA - DACOSTA GOOCH RODES, 89, OF Newport News, formerly of Beckley, W.Va., died Tuesday, May 1, 1990, at home after a long illness. He was retired from C&O Railroad. He was a member of Meadow Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving: son, David of Newport News; daughters, Ellen Pruett of Newport News, Sue Ankenbrandt of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Axson Ceperley of Charleston, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose-Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
