G. L. Shawver Illness Victim
Glenn Lake Shawver, head of the oldest roofing concern in the Kanawha Valley, died in a Charleston hospital yesterday at the age of 71. He had been in ill health. A lifetime Charlestonian, Mr. Shawver resided at 1426 Quarrier St., E. He was president and general manager of the W. F. Shawver and Sons Roofing Co. at 507 Capitol St. The firm was established in 1893 by Mr. Shawver's father. Survivors are his wife, Margaret C.: two sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Monaghan of Beaumont, Tex., and Mrs. Lucille Rectenwald of Charleston. Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Simpson-Chandler Funeral Home by the Rev. Harry P. Light. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. The body is at the funeral home.

Shawver Estate Worth $196,514
G. Lake Shawver, former vice president of W. P. Shawver and Sons of Charleston, roofing contractors, left an estate valued at $196,514, according to the appriasal filed with the county clerk.
The principal item of his estate is corporate stock listed as worth $184,276. He is survived by his widow, Margaret Shawver.
