Laviro Neff, 61, carpenter, of Sciotoville route 2, died at 3:15 a.m. today at Portsmouth General hospital after an illness of the last four months of complications.
He was born Aug. 11, 1880, at Rainelle, W. Va., a son of Addison and Virginia Hickman Neff. He lived in that vicinity until 1920 when he came to Scioto county. He was a member of Cedar Street Christian church at New Boston. On April 3, 1912, he married Lillian Shawver.
Surviving are his wife and these children: Andrew Neff of Lucasville, John W. Neff of Portsmouth, William R. Neff at home, Mrs. Elizabeth Loper of Sciotoville route 2 and Mrs. Katherine Fligor of Chesapeake.
He also leaves these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Lucy Sanford, R.A., C.A., Otto and J. F. Neff of Rainelle, S. L. Neff of Brighton, Colo., Mrs. Naomi Reynolds of Clendening, W. Va., and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Emerick's funeral home, with Rev. William Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. The body is at the residence and will be returned to the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
