Margaret Isabell "Peggy" Rader-Mankin,73, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Raleigh General Hospital following a battle with stage 4 leukemia and breast cancer.
She was born on June 23, 1945 to the late William C. Rader (1922-1998) and Kathleen Marie Rutledge-Rader (1923-2001). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother Granny Douglas Rutledge (Deceased); sister, Sandra Rader-Stewart (Deceased) of Bradley, WV; aunts, Betty Rader-Hughes (Deceased), Evelyn Rutledge (Deceased), Juania Rutledge (Deceased), Helen Rader-Campbell (Deceased); uncles, Glen Rutledge (Deceased), John Rutledge (Deceased), and John Campbell (Deceased).
Peggy graduated 4th out of her 1963 graduating class of over 300 at Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV. She was then awarded a scholarship to Marshall University. She was a wonderful cook and the meals she provided to her family will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, David James Mankin of Daniels, WV; daughter, Kelly Ann Mankin-Masters of Davidson, NC; sons, Matthew David Mankin & wife Vickie Mankin of Beckley, WV, and John William Mankin of Beckley, WV; grandsons, Bryce Mankin Masters and Dylan Mankin Masters of Davidson, NC; granddaughters, Kinsley Ann Mankin, Marlie Lynn Mankin, Joely Kate Mankin, and Simmi Beth Mankin of Beckley, WV; sisters, Helen "Jo" Rader-Blackburn and Kathleen Lee "Katie" Rader-Ayers, of Beckley, WV; nieces, Debra Stewart-Wooldridge & husband John Wooldridge, Shannon Ayers-Swartz & husband Jason Swartz and their daughter Ava Swartz of Beckley, WV; nephews, Scott Stewart, Jeff Blackburn & wife Shelly Blackburn of Beckley, WV, Mark Ayers & wife Fran Ayers of Huntington, WV; brother-in-law, Judd Stewart; and a host of loving family and friends that will miss her dearly.
Funeral Service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 am until service time. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
