CARL LEE PHILLIPS, 71, OF ALDERSON, died Jan. 31, 1992, at home after a long illness. He was a retired welder for E.W. Bliss Co., Canton, Ohio. He was a member of Grace Bible Church, Asbury. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of VFW. He was a member of American Legion and DAV, and he was a prisoner of war. Surviving: daughters, Dorothy Lee Covey of Hartford City, Ind., Stella Louise Mackey of East Canton, Ohio, Betty Jane Patrick of Phoenix, Ariz., Patricia Ann Chambers of Muncie, Ind.; brothers, Garland of Winfield, Roy of Alderson, Harlan of Ashland, Ky.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson, with the Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
