  The Beckley Post-Herald, Beckley, WV, 26 October 1973 James Small, 65, Dies; Rites Slated RUPERT (RNS) ? James Curtis Small, 65, of Rupert died Thursday morning in a Ronceverte hospital after a short illness. Born at Winona, April 1, 1908, he was a con of the late John and Elnora Horrocks Small. He was a member of the Big Clear Creek Baptist Church where he served as deacon and was a retired coal miner. Survivors include his wife, Neva; one son, Larry of Fairlea, and two sisters, Mrs. Violet Smithson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Elizabeth Legg of Rainelle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Big Clear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. John Lares in charge. Burial will be in the End-of-the-Trail Cemetery at Clintonville. Friends may call at Smathers Funeral Home in Rainelle after 5 p.m. today and the body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
