He [Nicasios de Sille] was the grandson of the eminent statesman, Nicasius de Sille, who was born at Malines, Aug. 3, 1543, and who was Advocate in the Provincial Council at Namur, Secretary to the Privy Council and to the Archduke Matthias, and who became, 1584, Council and Pensionary of Amsterdam and Deputy (delegate) in the States General. He was sent, 1587, with others on an Embassy to Queen Elizabeth of England; was Ambassador to Denmark, and afterwards to Germany, and died Aug. 22, 1600, and was buried in the choir of the Red Church at Amsterdam.
