SPARKS, John Carl - Service will be at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow in Sparks Chapel at Persinger with Rev. L. A. Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery nearby. Mr. Sparks, 52, died Wednesday, at his home in Persinger, Nicholas county, following self Inflicted gunshot wounds. The body will be taken from the D. R. Simon Mortuary in Summersville to the residence at 5 p. m. today. It will be taken to the church one hour before service. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura McClung Sparks; two sons, John of Kansas City, Mo., and James with the U. B. Army at Fort Bragg, N. C.; six daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Grose of Dunbar, Mrs. Ellen Legg of Charleston, Mrs. Betty Grose, Mrs. Anna Riddle, and Lenore and Carol Sparks, all of Persinger; two foster sons Fred Downery of Persinger and James Downery with the U. S. Army In Japan; one brother, Abner Sparks; and two sisters, Mrs. H. E. Dillinger of Charleston and Mrs. L. W. Deeletz of Buckhannon.
