Ruth Shafer Lowman, 84, of Charleston died Aug. 2, 1998, at home after a long illness.
She was a homemaker, a member of First Presbyterian Church, Charleston, and a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Surviving: sons, Charles Lowman of Richmond, Va., William Lowman of Hollis, N.H., Henry Lowman of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Charleston, with the Rev. Douglas Heidt officiating. Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kanawha Hospice Care Inc., 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar WV 25064.
