On Thursday, Sept. 9th, 2010 our most cherished Vivian Ranson Jarrell Miller of Dry Creek, passed away at the Bowers Hospice House. She was 72 years of age.
Vivian was born on June 19, 1938, at Saxon, the daughter of the late Carles and Nellie Daniel Ransom. Brothers, Clarence and Roy and a sister, Veronica preceded her in death as well as her paternal grandparents, George and Nellie Smarr Ransom, maternal grandparents, Arch Daniel and Ollie Manning Daniel Eskew, her step grandpa, Marion Eskew and he sister-in-law, Linda Ransom.
In addition to her family, her first husband, Bruce Jarrell preceded her in death also.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Roy Miller; her dear son, Ivan Jarrell and his wife, Vicky. The joy of Vivian's life were her granddaughters, Shelby Lynn and Emma Marie. Mourning her loss are her sister, Frances Osborne and her husband Earl of Fairdale; brothers, Roger Ransom and his wife, Juanita of Eccles, Marion Ransom and his wife Beverly of Stover, Larry Ransom of Saxon and Oley Ransom of Beckley; a special aunt, Kathleen Jarrell, niece, Kathy Kinder of Charleston and a special friend, Joyce Gunnoe of Dry Creek as well as their families.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12th at the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Roger Mullens officiating. Burial will follow in the Jarrell Cemetery at Dry Creek. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of the service. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family suggests donations of sympathy be made to Bowers Hospice House, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802 or Dry Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
