Dewey Hill Stickler, 76, of Meadow Bridge passed away on Wednesday morning, October 19, 2022 at the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg.
He was born on November 4, 1945 at home in Lockbridge; he was the son of the late Seymour David Stickler and Martha Lee Rourke Stickler.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Dewey H. Stickler, Jr; 2 grandchildren, Gregory Matthew Stickler and Evan Gray Simms; brothers, George Stickler and William Stickler; sister-in-law, Shirley Stickler and brother-in-law, Jesse Franklin Smith.
Dewey worked in the timber industry, prior to working 25 years in the coal mines. He loved being outside, hunting, fishing and farming. He loved his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Thelma Jean Jones Stickler; son, Greg (Beth) Stickler; daughter, Anita Stickler Simms and companion Larry all of Meadow Bridge; daughter-in-law, Andria Stickler; three sisters, Georgie (Marvin) Plumley , Shelva (Melvin) Richmond both of Lockbridge, Elizabeth (Franklin) Smith of Virginia; 8 grandchildren, Cole (Dannon) , Troy (Keeli) Ian, Ryder, Autumn, Kendra (Will) , Dylan (Lexi) and Amber; 4 great grandchildren, Tucker, Addisyn, Karsen and Ivy Kate; 3 step grandchildren, Courtney, Kadee and Quinton and 4 step great grandchildren; 4 great friends, Curtis Martin, Kenny Fleshman, Sam Haynes and Connie Loudermilk.
Service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Wallace & Wallace, Rainelle with Pastor Mark Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Stickler Family Cemetery, Lockbridge. Friends may call from 12:00 until time of service.
