Freda M. Deitz Smith, 85, of Deep Water died April 13, 2009.
She was born June 22, 1923, in Mount Lookout and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Anna Evans Deitz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Smith; sister, Lucille Frazier; and brothers, Charles and Emmett Deitz.
Freda was a former employee of G.C. Murphy in Montgomery and was a cook for the Deep Water school. She was also of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her sister, Audra Deitz of Mount Lookout; brother, Gerald Deitz of Mount Lookout; sister-in-law, Freda Deitz of Mount Lookout; brother-in-law, John Frazier of Robson; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with the Rev. Paul Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Mount Lookout.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
