Eleanora Bernice "Cricket" Boggs, 87, of Fenwick Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at her home on Fenwick Mountain, after a short illness.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Fenwick Mountain. She loved to crochet and loved to grow flowers and work in her vegetable garden. She loved to cook and bake. She never missed church when she was able. She never gave up and was a happy working person. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Bogg; two sons, Dennis Ray and David Roscoe Boggs; grandson, Kevin Bennett; granddaughter, Cheryl Lynn.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Cook of Fenwick Mountain, Frances Barker of Colliers, Beulah Geer of Tionesta, Pa., Shirley Bennett of Fenwick Mountain; brother, Eddie Hamrick of Summersville; four sisters, Leora Collins of Nettie, Arleta Wilson of Webster Springs, Mary Elizabeth Chapman of Fenwick, Helen Hamrick of Strasbourg, Va.; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, with the Rev. Keith Williams and the Rev. Jadie Morris officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery, Fenwick Mountain.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, at the funeral home.
Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood is in charge of arrangements.
