FENWICK MAN DIES IN TRUCK ACCIDENT
FENWICK - A 21-year-old Nicholas County man was dead on arrival at Summersville Memorial Hospital early Friday after the pickup truck he was driving veered off W.Va. 39, struck several trees and overturned. The victim, Kevin Dale Bennett of Fenwick, was thrown from the eastbound vehicle, according to the Nicholas County Sheriff's Department. The accident occurred about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Fenwick, about three miles west of Richwood, according to a sheriff's spokeswoman. Bennett was alone at the time of the crash. Bennett attended New Hope Baptist Church at Fenwick Mountain, and was a mechanic for Nettie Auto Repairs. Surviving: Parents, Lowell and Shirley Bennett of Fenwick; brother, Lowell Bennett Jr. of Fenwick; sister, Mary Elizabeth Dobson of Nettie; paternal grandmother, Ersha Bennett of Fenwick; maternal grandmother, Ellanora Boggs of Fenwick. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, with the Rev. Jadie Morris and the Rev. Allen Karnes officiating. Burial will be in the Bennett family cemetery, Fenwick Mountain. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
